Guardian of the Castle

CA$600.00

Oil on canvas
18” x 14”

This painting depicts Murdo, the Highland Cow who resides at Castle Roy and keeps watch over the ruins. This protection over the flowers that bloom among the crumbling walls is a symbol for how we care for our inner selves when the life we have built crumbles away.

The Scotland Collection is an ongoing body of work that draws visual reference from a road trip my wife and I took through Scotland in spring of 2023. It is inspired by queer ancestry and what their lives might have been like, imbued with my personal experiences of love, friendship, and queerness. Read more here.
